What is SUP?
Have you ever heard of SUP? You must have heard of some of your friends or family talking about paddleboards and paddleboarding. SUP stands for Stand Up Paddleboarding. It is a water sport that is becoming more and more popular because it is a super fun form of exercise and a good excuse to spend a little more time in nature.
Paddleboard equipment
SUP (Stand Up Paddleboarding) requires some specific equipment to be able to paddle. All that is needed is a paddleboard and some water. On the other hand, there is a lot of extra equipment that will only make the experience of standing on a paddleboard more fun:

Just remember to check the places where you paddle for potential danger. Here you must be aware of the depth of the water, the temperature, wind strength, wildlife, strong currents and other people.

Is it difficult to stand on a paddleboard?
Once you've decided to jump on the paddleboard trend, it only gets more fun the better you get at paddling. It is important to remember that we are all different – some will find it difficult to paddle, while others will find it easier to get started.
If you don't have the opportunity to take a SUP course in Aarhus, Aalborg or Copenhagen, but still want to get on the water, keep these tips in mind:
- Start by paddling on your knee. It will help you feel more stable.
- Focus on the horizon and move forward! It will always be easier to keep your balance when you are moving.
- When you get to your feet, keep a little "bend" in your knees and always be relaxed! Remember to smile, standing on a paddleboard is amazing.
- Never be afraid to fall into the water. We all fall into the water when we paddle, it's part of the experience
